Tromsø is mostly located on Tromsøya Island, connected to the mainland by the Tromsø Bridge and an underwater tunnel. A second bridge links the city to Kvaløya island. Express boats (pictured) and ferries run several services linking towns in the region. Centre stage is the Arctic Cathedral.
