Tromsø summer

The third largest urban area inside the Arctic Circle, Tromsø in northern Norway has a population of 65,000.

The city lies about 350km north of the Arctic Circle. But because of the Gulf Stream the climate is milder than you’d expect for the latitude. In summer average temperatures reach about 15ºC, and the midnight sun shines from May to July.

Tromsø is an important cultural centre for its region. It boasts the world's most northerly university, a symphony orchestra, a theatre and professional theatre company, several museums and art galleries, and the well known "Arctic Cathedral".

The city centre has an intriguing mixture of old wooden houses and examples of cutting-edge modern architecture.

So please join us on a short tour of Tromsø and its beautiful surroundings on a pleasant summer’s day.
